Who can join

Membership is open to people aged 18 or over who accept the Charter: doctors working in the care of people with mental disorders; medical workers in psychiatric healthcare; individuals and legal entities engaged in private medical practice; representatives of the scientific, technical and creative professions; and employees whose work is connected with the organisation and development of healthcare (paragraph 4.1).

Collective membership is available to psychiatric healthcare entities operating under their own charter, as well as staff collectives of private organisations and institutions in the field, joint-stock companies and firms (paragraph 4.3).

Membership application

Requirements

Admission may be individual or collective. Individual admission is based on an application from a natural person; collective admission is based on an application from a legal entity (paragraph 4.2). An individual applicant must be at least 18, accept the Charter and provide written recommendations from two current Association members (paragraphs 4.1 and 4.4).

Required documents

For an individual: a written application and written recommendations from two Association members (paragraph 4.4).

For a legal entity: an application signed by its head; the relevant governing body’s decision to join; a copy of its charter; and a copy of its state registration certificate (paragraph 4.4).

Application review

Admission is individual on the basis of an application from a natural person or collective on the basis of an application from a legal entity (paragraph 4.2). Online applications are not yet open; the timetable, contact details and technical submission arrangements will be published separately.

Benefits

The Association’s chartered aims and tasks include representing and protecting its members’ rights and legitimate interests, including before national and international organisations, and providing members with information, scientific and methodological support, and material and technical support (paragraphs 1.1 and 2.1-2.2).

Frequently asked questions

Fees

Members must pay membership dues on time (paragraph 4.14). The Association Conference determines the amount of admission and membership dues (paragraph 5.6); no specific amount is currently published on the website. Admission and membership dues are among the sources from which the Association’s property is formed (paragraph 7.1).

Which member obligations and ground for exclusion are stated in the Charter?

Paragraph 4.14 includes, among other duties, paying membership dues on time, helping to fulfil the Association’s chartered aims and tasks, and complying with decisions of its governing bodies. Under paragraph 4.15, a member who does not comply with the Charter may be excluded from the Association in accordance with the established procedure.
