Cooperation with the World Psychiatric Association

The World Psychiatric Association brings together 147 psychiatric societies in 123 countries and represents more than 250,000 psychiatrists. Through scientific collaboration, education, publications, ethical standards and international congresses, the WPA advances psychiatry and mental health worldwide.

Through this cooperation, the Association contributes to scientific and educational exchange and Zone 10 initiatives. The 3rd Samarkand Spring School for Young Psychiatrists and Narcologists, held on 8–12 April 2026, was organised by the Association with support from the Ministry of Health, the Scientific Center for Mental Health and Uzbekistan’s leading medical universities, and was held under the auspices of the WPA.

During the Samarkand School, WPA representatives discussed preparations for a planned WPA Regional Congress in Tashkent in 2027. Official dates, programme and registration details will be published once approved.
